Orphans of Charon

Long ago, on the Origin — Earth — mankind reached the pinnacle of technology and culture. A perfect society where every need was met and every living person dedicated themselves to art, and philosophy, and science.

But every culture has their rebels: the ones who don't fit in, who want something different. In their enlightenment the ancients brought such people to the frozen moon, Charon, and placing them in a primitive pod, with just what they needed to survive and perhaps build something new for themselves, they were launched via the Quantum Catapult to the distant Mordred Galaxy.

Stranded without the vast technology they were used to, and denied the astrometric data to identify where they had come from even if they had the technology to return, most died.

More than ten thousand years have passed since the last pod arrived from mankind's mythic home. Empires have risen and fallen; dark ages and ages of progress have come and gone.

This now is the story of the descendants of those Orphans of Charon.
